Pros

Legitimately there are none and mass amounts of people are leaving this place constantly it’s a revolving door.

Cons

The pay is way below average for the market, you could make more money working anywhere else. The toxic culture is one of the worst things. They promote people who should not be promoted, and don’t promote women and people of color who DO deserve it. On top of that , their moral compass is pointed toward capitalism and not toward doing the right things and doing right by their employees. They have never had their act together to actually ship things, let alone have the ability to KEEP good talent. Their leadership for product, engineering, and design are all laughable for those who are left and “now” in control. They honestly would have gone under had it not been for the pandemic helping them profit for the first time in history. Avoid working here at all costs. Do not fall for anything they sell you, it’s all lies.

Pros

* Pay is decent especially with the stock * There are a lot of opportunities to learn since so much of the architecture is getting an overhaul

Cons

* Very little PTO * Toxic leadership (which has only worsened since Jim Miller became CTO) * "Up or Out" culture meaning if you are an L1 or L2 you must get promoted within 18-24 months or you will be PIPed out * Promotion criteria can be arbitrary and unrelated to daily job duties * HR is awful at handling harassment claims (the solution is usually to move the person affected by harassment to a different team rather than firing or moving the harasser) * L2s and L3s are massively overworked and carry the company (L2s are by far the least happy employees) and upper management does nothing * Tons of inexperienced managers

Pros

Some flexibility on work timings. Average pay for Boston Area.

Cons

Your job is highly unstable, they PiP employees all the time. Manager finds reasons to screw you in performance reviews. If you are on Visa, this becomes a constant source of worry. Almost 10% can be managed out every year. Their tech stack also sucks. Mostly you will have to maintain their PHP codebase reducing your chances in the job market.
