Lost that Start up Feeling

Pros

Plently of opportunity to learn, so long as you are able to be self directed and manage your own career.

Cons

Brining in loads of former consultants into middle and VP level of management and have completely altered the overall environment. No longer do all departments work together toward the same goals, instead feels like each is willing to impose their will on the others to acheive individual goals. Pay scale is low against the expectations.

Avoid Sales!

Pros

CEOs are nice. Most positions start out in teams, so you learn with a group.

Cons

They flat-out lied about pay/earnings and funneled all promising leads to the original team members so there was little hope of actually earning anywhere near the commission they promised. Work was pretty much 24/7 or you'd lose sales on your accounts to people in customer service, so overall quality of life was extremely poor.

Pros

I only recommend this job to any prospective employee who wants to work while biding their time for something better, for there are far better opportunities that lie outside Wayfair--I will not recommend this job to a friend or family member. Wayfair does have a wonderful HR team that I had the pleasure of working with through the time I needed off work for surgery, however, it was unfortunate that this wonderful HR team had to be the bearer of Wayfair Corporate's message that I was to be terminated for needing so much time off (I month) for surgery and recovery, a surgery that if I didn't have it done, would impair my work-ability not only working at Wayfair, but any job I would work.

Cons

Semi-monthly pay--this translates into not getting paid for overtime as one would on a weekly or bi-weekly pay frequency; clever loopholes to not have to pay overtime wages makes for very disgruntled employees, which is one of a myriad reasons why Wayfair is starting to have a turn-over rate that is tantamount to that of Amazon's. I could go on an on, I could describe a litany of what is wrong with Wayfair, but save all that and know this one thing, dear reader: Wayfair Corporate cares nothing for their base-level employees, no matter if one has exemplary performance and is a profound asset to a department's entire process, or even has exemplary attendence and promptness showing up for work everyday, Wayfair Corporate cares nothing for their base-level employees, for that I can personally vouche for.
