Pros

The people you are in the trenches with are beyond amazing.

Cons

The managers are (for the most part) inept. Huge disconnect between the vision of the CEO and the execution that is required. Employees are set up to fail. You will be given more and more work with no raise. The attitude is, someone else will fill your spot if you leave.

Overworked & Underpaid

Pros

Initially attracts bright, smart people, made great friends. Fun events, but really it was the colleagues that made it.

Cons

Work life balance does not exist. Pay is not competitive. I left and made $10k more right off the bat. The job that I was hired for was not what I ended up doing everyday. The management team we were under was abusive. Verbally abusive. Not only do you expect me to work 12+ hour days, you're nasty to me.

Not great

Pros

--Your co-workers are probably smart, talented, fun, and interesting people. Being around them is great. --You'll wear a lot of hats so you'll learn a lot --Parties all the time

Cons

--Management doesn't care. They'll tell you they do, but will then turn around and demand that you work constantly. --Work is non-stop (10-12 hours a day plus email, calls, texts on off hours, including weekends). --Everyone is underpaid and overworked. Extremely high turn over. --Crazy unrealistic expectations and arbitrary deadlines for work --Not a lot of room for growth --incredible nepotism --No 401k, no HR department, minimal vacation/sick days, minimal holidays, little flexibility to work from home --No one in upper management is willing to stand up to the CEO, and lower-level employees suffer because of it
