Pros

The pros are vastly outweighed by the cons.

Cons

The cult worship of the CEO and VPs, Overly long hours, The weird pervasive idea that they are making the world a better place and their company is a social cause, WeWork is just a glorified real estate company catering to the hip and gullible crowd. They are doing nothing innovative and not changing the world for the better like they believe. If you are contacted by their recruiters, RUN!

Pros

I can't speak for community jobs but I work in tech for WeWork. No clue why the company has gotten such lukewarm reviews -- I saw this as I went through the interview process but my experience thus far has been nothing but extraordinary. Pros would definitely be the work atmosphere, free coffee / snacks, regular events paid by the company, awesome lounge areas, and coworkers that, for the most part, are excited about the company and what it does for employees. The most immense benefit of working here however is the endless networking opportunity. WeWork is home to thousands of companies, so you'll meet people from every realm of business. It is an opportunity to make connections with people of different backgrounds, learn, and grow as a person. That, to me, is huge. Benefits package is good, ~3 weeks paid days off and a lenient sick day policy. Two big trips per year and they seem like a ton of fun from what I've heard (haven't been yet).

Cons

Working hours, especially for community workers, can be long. I work in tech for the company and my hours are 9-6, but I regularly see the community team working outside those boundaries. I can understand that complaint. Truthfully, my days fly by and I feel quite accomplished by the end of the day. One other complaint I saw was compensation, but I have a hard time relating to that as in my experience my salary was competitive even as a relatively new member of the workforce (I graduated college last year). The company definitely has a strong culture. Some may be put off by the "cult vibe" but to me it is simply a driven company with clear values and a mission. One other thing I would say -- no 401k contribution as of yet, but they're "working on it".
