Pros

At the time, lots of potential for projects and tech developments, promotions are available (typically due to longevity rather than accomplishment/skillset), and skill development is accelerated due to the volume and number of tasks required. Departments in marketing, Community, and other internal departments seem to be much more accommodating relative to operations depending on how forward-facing they are.

Cons

On the other hand, technology department was gutted of staff, management is laughably disconnected from the realities of operations outside of HQ locations, and senior staff and techs left en masse. Pay is not remotely competitive, and benefits are 'eh' as of early 2020. You will be expected to work above and beyond the standard of any normal company in terms of workload, projects will be canceled or reassigned with little notice, and there will be many, many, extra hours. Some of this might be better now that they aren't expanding so aggressively.

Pros

A lot of skilled team members. You learn a lot in a short time if you invest in your projects. Pay and benefits are decent. Get to work with big clients, Wework has a big reach.

Cons

The process is very chaotic and not aligned with industry standards. No onboarding is offered, you have to chase information because the process is not straight forward. Quite aggressive culture, you’re encouraged to call people’s managers instead of working something out directly so it creates a passive aggressive environment. Process is very slow. A lot if red tape, to the point it’s very hard to deliver projects. You get no control over your career or role. People get reassigned to new departments and roles without getting any say in this change. Hard to build a career path when Wework has very little regard for how you contribute to their business. Seems like they learned to accept they operate as a revolving door so I don’t see much focus on retention or effort to keep employees happy. I wouldn’t recommend working here.
