A few honest, good-hearted, talented people can be found hiding in various corners of the office. The paychecks arrive on time every other week.
Cons
The company is owned and managed by a group of incompetent luddites with no technical knowledge or expertise. The culture is toxic. Unless you're a manager or someone who can stomach placating fragile egos, job security is nonexistent. In my tenure as an employee, 16 people gave their notice or were fired out of 30-35 employees. I'm not exaggerating. When someone is fired, no notice is given and they're seemingly ambushed after lunch or a meeting and escorted out of the building. The few who remain are told to not ask questions and get the extra work done. Despicable. The benefits package is mediocre and many of the perks they try to lure in new hires with are outright counterfeit. I attempted to log an hour to professional development and was immediately yelled at for wasting company time. If I wanted to log the hour, I had to write formal proposals and present them to my manager. The company handbook claims two hours a week are set aside for professional development, but it's an outright lie. It's just a horrible place to work. Management lure in college grads with granola bars, free soda, and promises of career development, but 99% quickly burn out trying to squeeze 50 hours of work into a 40 hour work week (they won't let you log more than 40 hours). Developers regularly work 60 hour weeks with no relief. Unless you enjoy working for greedy fools or desperately need the money, don't work here. I promise you'll regret it. The promises of advancement or growth are false. You will NOT grow at Web Courseworks.
