Pros

The perks given to employees.

Cons

On paper, the job seemed great, but in reality, it often felt like walking on eggshells. A typical day was filled with micromanagement from multiple directions, making it hard to focus or feel trusted in my role. Tasks were constantly questioned or redone, even when they met expectations. Management was inconsistent and lacked transparency. Despite being told I was doing well, I was abruptly let go without warning or clear reasoning, just days after receiving positive feedback. The culture was heavily focused on “toxic positivity” everything had to be “great” or “amazing,” even when morale was clearly low. Constructive criticism or honest concerns were dismissed or met with defensiveness. There was no space for authentic feedback or professional growth. The hardest part was the unpredictability and constant anxiety around job security. It was difficult to feel safe or supported, knowing that terminations could happen suddenly, even when your performance seemed strong.

Pros

Training modules, activities, hire out of college without experience

Cons

Now that it has been a couple years since I was let go from WebFX, I can now reflect on this place for what it is really was. It should be considered unethical to make employees clock on for events in the middle of the work day. The company will throw events and say they aren't required, but it will be frowned upon if you don't attend and then stay later to make up for the hour or more that you were at the event. No other work place that I have been at since runs on this type of mentality. I worked at temp job at law firm, a temp job for the city, and now work a permanent position at an institution. Sure, my bearings since working at WebFX are now more within the public sector, although when I have spoken to others that work in Sales, Marketing, at private companies they have looked at me like I was crazy for accepting the treatment that I did from this company. In what world is it okay to expect someone to have a timer running on their computer, and make them stop the timer whenever they have to get up to use the restroom? In what world is it ethical to have employees create content for clients under a fake identity with fake credentials? I literally had to do all of my work under a fake name, with exaggerated work experience. Why did they make me do this? Because this identity is tied to their LLC, not to WebFX, so any negative reviews won't reflect poorly on WebFX. I questioned my manager about this and they said it's perfectly legal...sure, but is it really right? This place is SKETCHY. Most people that work at WebFX have been there since they graduated college, so they don't know what it's like on the outside. They whole mentality of this place literally gives off the same vibe as the Spongebob episode where the Krusty Krab get's taken over by a micromanaging corporate yuppy... "cut the chatter and pick up the platter!!!".

Pros

-The company culture is very welcoming and everyone who works there is very nice. Most employees are young professionals out of college. -Great training program

Cons

- Your are constantly working a multiple projected for various clients throughout the day and have time limits on each project. Everyday there is a new long list of projects and trainings for you to complete on top of your client account responsibilities. - Their pay is extremely low compared to other digital marketing positions that is why 80% of their staff if fresh college graduates. They try to reel you in with their "cool culture" and hope it will convince you to take a lower salary. - Heavy Micro-Managed environment. You are automatically clocked out if your computer sits Idle for more then 10 minutes and you have a clock in timer that times how long you've been working so you can't log off unless your work your full alotted time. -They expect you to do other book readings, work and certifications outside of work hours which are optional but if you don't complete them you are frowned upon and they shame you. Almost like they don't expect you to have a work life balance. - They don't actually care about you creating quality work. They want you to just do enough and make sure you get the work done by the deadlines. There were a lot of times where I disagreed with the quality of work they expected us to complete and when I told them that it wasn't fair to the clients they said "it didn't really matter" -They give really vague guidelines for tools and CMS's they never trained you on and expect you to get things done. They apologized for the terrible guidelines but never did anything to fix it and sometimes there was no one who could assist you or answer you questions until hours later past the deadlines for the projects. - I got in trouble for taking extra time then the alotted time to produce quality content, keyword reasearch, and other purposeful on-page seo optimizations. - I was eventually laid off and they told me I wasn't a good fit for a digital marketing career path and never gave me any specific reasoning. I think it was because I truly cared too much about producing only the best quality work for client who pay thousand for our service. A few month later I got a new Digital Marketing job and generated the company millions of dollars in the first 2 years and ended up making a six figure salary. Don't ever let anyone nonetheless a careless digital marketing company tell you your not good enough for the industry.
