Pros

Good people Products are usually (eventually) pretty decent at the frontend "Fun Fridays" while a bit cringey, were appreciated and did help a bit CEO does seem willing to (sometimes) take chances on new hires

Cons

CEO with a mindset that his 130+ employee company is still a small, lean startup - it isn't No or limited HR processes to speak of Products rushed to market without testing Oh god the micromanagement - team leaders don't even get budgets Absolute, total lack of vision and short-term thinking Too many products - stick to School Jotter, it's actually not bad Office space is tiny - yes it's Leeds City Centre but there's only one meeting room. Under-resourcing of all departments Constant pleas from CEO to work for free - articulated as "stretching beyond" and "going the extra mile" - all it means is "work for free". Paranoid - stories of employees being fired for adding recruiters on LinkedIn, employees having HR called over updated CVs on LinkedIn, workplace bullying (almost entirely by the CEO, who's just that - a bully). This website is blocked because the negative (ie, real) reviews were causing too much dissent. It's the only blocked website! Literally, you can browse anything but Glassdoor! Internal systems just don't work - CRM is a godawful mess that doesn't work and isn't even being fixed due to short-term planning. Customer contact information is a mess, communication is non-existent. Ludicrous targets based on some random pie-in-the-sky numbers

Pros

Nice office, good views city centre location People are all really nice You can get good experience in the right role

Cons

Extensive micro management such as call monitoring, you have to fill in logs of everything you do each day, MD makes all decisions and decides who does what and when No effective leadership. Managers too scared to make decisions, so nothing gets done. CRM terrible. No flexibility (values don't seem to apply to the business - limited flexitime, no home working). Negligible staff benefits.

Pros

Throughout my career I have never felt compelled to write a review on Glassdoor, but on this occasion, I feel a sense of responsibility to help you with your decision before potentially joining Webanywhere. The people there are amazing. There is a real feeling of togetherness - they all feel each others pain and have developed strong relationships to deal with the erratic behaviour of the owner.

Cons

To be clear, Webanywhere is really three separate businesses under one brand. Under the Webanywhere umbrella sits, Education: Product, School Jotter - an outdated website content management system designed for schools (written many years ago) Workplace Learning, they are a reseller of a Learning Management Solution called Totara. They have no content therefore no intellectual property but have some very clever technical people in Poland that help them win business that nobody else wants. Ventures - This consists of various iterations of the SoundBranch product, but as the products don’t solve any major business problem, the owner is desperately trying to make a square peg fit into a round hole. The result: employees are forced to use the products which they feel hinder their day jobs and sales people forced to show products to clients that either are not finished or just don’t compliment their existing product portfolio. As part of your process to decide on your next move, I would strongly advise you to search on LinkedIn for previous employees. This will give you a feel for their high employee attrition rate and I am sure previous employees will give you an off the record account of their experience.
