Stay Away - Micromanaging at its Worst - Poor Pay

Pros

Properties are well-maintained. That's about it.

Cons

I could write a novel. Overall horrible experience with staff from day one. With any company, there are relationships among staff, favoritism, etc. At this company, many with extremely poor and disrespectful attitudes towards coworkers and all who walk through the door stay employed even though upper management are well-aware of the issues with these employees. Director plays favorites. Many Managers fail to do the very basics of their jobs yet remain on the payroll. Policies and Procedures are huge with this company, which is great, yet Director would oddly ignore P &P when I tried to enforce it with (non-paying) tenants- it seemed like a bizarre attempt to undermine my minimal authority and strange power-play never before encountered in years of property management. As a Manager, you're not empowered or trusted to make decisions (even if you're extremely qualified). If you don't trust my judgment, why was I even hired? P &P are clear, and I always followed P&P. Everything little decision must be approved the Director- even basics, such as her approval for a carpet clean after a lease renewal. Strange. Even leasing consultants are allowed to approve a $25 carpet clean at lease renewal with other companies. Director seemed to have an odd need for control on a level I've never experienced in my years in the field. It creates so much extra back-and-forth for both Director and Manager. And I’m minimizing my awful experiences with the Director. Maintenance employees would fail to show up for work and remained on the payroll. Director allowed the men within the company to get away with murder. Again, I could write a novel detailing every experience. Overall a bizarre experience with this company. I won’t get into the false promises with pay/position/training when I was hired, but I took the job based on being promised to reach X in X amount of time. If I would’ve known what a resume-killer and horrible job this was, I would’ve ran and continued my job search. Oh, and the best kicker - owners fly in to town on their private jet, yet we can barely scrape by. Out-of-touch and completely tone deaf to flaunt your wealth when every single employee is scraping by and carrying all the stress of their micro-managing Director, demanding and entitled tenants, mean-girl club Managers and employees at this joke of a company.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. It is very unfortunate that you had such a negative experience here and that you felt there was favoritism. That is certainly not how we want employees to feel and we wish that this had been brought to our attention while you still worked here. Employees are encouraged to share concerns, and our Human Resources team would have been happy to talk with you and get to a better place. Our Regional Directors help support our teams in many ways, and we are sorry that you felt the opposite. Thank you for sharing your review and please know that we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

We are sorry to hear that you don’t recommend working at Weinstein Properties. While we are glad that you felt there was opportunity for growth, we are disappointed to learn that you felt as though there was no room for error. We are always willing to work with employees as they become proficient in their roles. In addition, we wish your concerns with training were brought to the attention of your Manager or Director. Our training team is always willing to schedule additional training sessions with employees who request it. It is important to communicate these needs to your Manager so proper steps can be taken to help. We appreciate your feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve. Please know that we wish you all the best!
