Pros

The money and benefits are pretty good. The financial professionals are very good at what they do. They tend to hire very smart people, although some not so smart people sometimes make it in the door

Cons

Within IT/IS Wellington is VERY political. You can be a star performer in the eyes of the financial groups, but IT/IS doesn't seem to care. Senior management within IT/IS only care about their own personal agendas which doesn't really help the company achieve success. There isn't a singular goal to make Wellington great success. It's all about personal achievement to receiving that all important bonus. The cream of the crop does NOT float to the top within IT/IS, the whey does. The cream tends to sink to the bottom and curdle then leave. In order to advance within the organization, you need to think like a presidential candidate and campaign for your advancement with senior managers that typically have nothing to do with you. It's ridiculous.

Pros

Work with incredibly smart, compassionate, and collaborative peeple. Firm always lived by a truly client, firm self ethos that has begun to go away.

Cons

Culture is a precious commodity. There has been a gradual decline of the client-first culture and too much focus on pushing flavor-of-the-month products irrespective of client needs. The rapid push into alts and privates without the supporting infrastructure (or talent) has come at a cost. Many great client and infrastrucure support folks have been terminated or managed out.
