Department leadership in IT can be hit or miss. Some good. Some bad.
Work/Life balance philosophy does not apply to IT personnel. You are expected, and coerced into far and above a normal 40 work week... remember "the customer comes before your own personal needs." If you are a trader or an analyst it seems like an awesome place to work. If you are an Information Technology professional... not so much.
All IT is now located in MARLBOROUGH and HQ is in downtown Boston... That commute is insane even without traffic and NO they do not provide any kind of transportation service to or from.
Inneffectual leadership and no cohesive collaborative teamwork in Network Services. Everyone is out for their own interests.
Operational obstructions in IT due to vertical operating model and lack of leadership being involved in facilitating cross-functional teams.
The leadership can get offensive and unproductive with support sraff when frustrated about problems they are incapable of resolving and must rely on someone else. Like the boss who stands behind you, arms crossed and tapping his foot in agitation while you are working.
A complete lack of vision with regard to Network design.
