It's a 24x7 work culture, you learn a lot, but you pay for it by giving up work-life balance

- Exposure to cutting edge technology - Gain experience in rapid development and deployment - Gain Agility in changing scope and priorities - Hands On work culture at every level of management - Flat organization, very few levels from top to bottom

Cons

- High pressure environment, very politically charged - 24 x 7 work culture. Every weekend has an activity going on, so forget about personal life - Be willing to take the blame often for failures, although very little sticks to you in the long run. - No culture of career-progress, you can go from team-lead to developer overnight (and vice-versa), unless some up the chain really likes you.

Pros

- A lot of interesting and smart people - Great employer to have on your resume for your next job or for business school - Great benefits - 3 weeks paid vacation to start and 4 weeks after 4 years (partners and other senior employees get 5 weeks) - Great pay (base + year-end bonus + profit sharing) - Hours are perfect. It depends who you work with but overall it's 8am to 6pm and very few work on weekends.

Cons

- Very hard to move up from Research Associate to Analyst as the company is hiring fresh MBAs. It does not matter how much more skilled and knowledgeable you are compared to a fresh MBA who has no experience in the field because the company will hire them instead of promoting you. - There is a lot of talk about the Wellington culture and how unique and amazing it is but frankly after a few years there I did not find anything special or different in terms of culture at Wellington vs other big companies. - The company has become too big and nobody knows each other anymore. - The year end bonus does not reflect your work at all. It does not matter how hard or how little you work and your end bonus will mainly reflect how well the company is doing overall. - Too formal (suit and tie everyday).
