Pros

There is a very strong corporate culture and name recognition. Accomplishments are publicly recognized and everyone is expected to work hard. It may seem very "rah-rah" but having now worked at a company with no corporate culture, I can appreciate the Wells environment.

Cons

Long hours are expected and the line between work and personal time is often blurred. Feedback to management is often not recognized or used for improvements. It is difficult to complete a long term project because the tenure of the sponsor (senior management) is usually only about a year, so priorities shift often.

Pros

Very stable company with opportunities to grow. Benefits were among the best I've ever seen, and for banking, great use of and investment in technology.

Cons

Banking doesn't pay as much as other industries. Federal regulations and audits make "in house" innovation hard because all code, macros, and procedures must be approved before using. Rarely does one get to use their own use of macros for efficiency because of these guidelines.

Pros

Culture The people were extremely down-to-earth and not cut-throat at all. Almost everyone around me was a lifer with the intention of staying long-term. Work Life Balance It's an extremely friendly place for families and my co-workers were not ashamed to show that life was not all about work. There is an emphasis on community involvement as well. Pay I was very satisfied with the pay, but I heard that it's not always the case. I worked in Corporate, though. The pay may not be as good in the branches.

Cons

The culture is not very young and it's a very large company. If you prefer a dynamic, young environment where things move very quickly, this may not be the place for you.
