Pros

The platform has a lot of financial muscle and with the right vision and systems it could do even better.

Cons

Generally the company is very cost focussed and that shows in everything from office furniture to the expense policy. The company is also known for paying less than competitive companies.

Pros

National footprint.....one of the last big banks still standing.

Cons

Leadership does not live up to the "printed" materials re: associate engagement. Additonally, the organizational structure does not clearly give ownership over specific business units, which leads to a lack of accountability.

Pros

Benefits are good, PTO is really nice, stores are usually furnished nicely and kept clean, has a positive reputation in the industry. Upward mobility is achievable

Cons

Moving up can be a struggle, sometimes I question how managers got into their positions, pressure to sell can be overwhelming, compensation is mediocre for the amount of responsibility the job has. Personal Bankers are really the face of the company to most of its customers; when they have a problem we are who they see and who they expect to give them everything they ask for. It really is two jobs in one: customer service and sales. I think the pay should be higher for having so much to do. The bonuses are kind of a joke too, if you get silver in everything your bonus is only around $2000 per quarter, and almost half gets taken out for taxes. Since the Wachovia merger the company seems to have gotten more focused on meeting the bottom line than meeting our customer's expectations of their financial instutution.
