Pros

Werner Equipment is fantastic in my opinion. They do pay for some things that Swift, CR England and some other companies don’t. I operate on the TCU account and go to the very same places A LOT! Consistent miles here. I am lucky. I have Jennifer Mauseth as a Fleet Manager! Fantastic and I highly recommend if you do work here. That is it for the positives that actually matter.

Cons

Absolutely positively do not by any means accept a “Male Fleet Manager” at Werner Enterprises. They all have something to prove and could care less about you or anything regarding your existence. I mean literally if you want a horrendous experience speak to any male fleet manager at Werner. You will quit the job momentarily after! Very Very Bad Dispatchers. Call on a weekend and it’s literally like talking to a brick wall of answers like (Welp, gotta wait till your fleet manager comes back). Extremely useless staff. Being that a lot of these guys have been at the desk since the dinosaurs they are treated like royalty and the drivers are more like work mules.

HORRIBLE CORPORATE HQ ENVIRONMENT

Pros

that I don't have to be there anymore!

Cons

I was told a different version of the job than what it actually ended up resulting in. Would literally come in for my regular 7-5PM shift and stare at a computer screen in a cubilcle. Constantly brushed off to somebody else to "assist" with their dirty work, in which I had no idea what I was doing. Absolutely never felt like I was productive because there is absolutely zero training provided nor any formalized training programs. My "manager" who was supposed to provide training had nothing to do with training and on-boarding her new staff member. She was constantly leaving to go on coffee-breaks, "drama-meetings", leave the building entirely to go shopping at Target after already having an hour lunch! Yeah!!, Take overly excessive smoke-breaks!! Was literally told "to figure it out" or leave because she had too much going on herself for one-to-one training. It is obvious that your managers don't know how to train people and clearly don't know what they are doing in their roles if they can't explain how to even do basic stuff and why you do it to begin with!

Pros

Honestly I like Werner, with the upper management change they said they are going to focus more on driver moral and retention. They are starting to raise pay and hopefully upgrade terminals as well as upgrading equipment. For a mega carrier I think they get a worse rap than they deserve.

Cons

Ok where to start... my BIGGEST complaint is COMMUNICATION with drivers. You can sit for hours in between loads and when you receive the run you see you could have picked it up as soon as you dropped your last load off. If you drop a load instead of telling your done for the day they leave you hanging so you stay up thinking your going to be dispatched. Then once you are dispatched you should have all ready been in the bunk getting much needed sleep because your going after a load that is on an opposite sleep cycle as you. There's no communication at all so you can't enjoy your time off because you didn't know that was suppose to be your time off.
