Does not pay any where close to average for job titles

Pay increase are very slow

Does NOT pay market value for your position. Because they won't match offers, people leave all the time, and thus no employee retention. Takes years to move up to next position.

Pay and vacation hours were on the low side

Upper management lies about policy, and creates policy changes out of nowhere. HR isn't there for the employee's - basically received no support or help from them when being terminated over a false positive on a drug test. Requested a retest and was told policy didn't allow it, yet our employee handbook clearly stated that it WAS allowed and up to management. Was told I was re-hirable in my exit interview, as long as I could pass my drug screening (which I could) but then was told 2 weeks later that they changed policy, and I now needed to wait a year to be rehired. Devoted 7 years to this company, was never written up, had no accidents or incidents but was let go with no chance or opportunity to prove my innocence.

The pay is low compared to literally anywhere else, also owned by Swire which could be considered a positive, but I am skeptical of large corporations.

contract work with limited ability to move forward.

Engineering is stressful. Lots of design decisions and collaborating with different people who check your work. It can be slow and tedious.
