Pros

1. Some very good, dedicated people. 2. Solid benefits package. 3. Remote work is okay if that's what you are into, as it provides flexibility depending on your manager.

Cons

1. Many people for whom the mission and values hold no real meaning or value have helped foment a toxic workplace environment, unfortunately, following the lead of the CEO and ELT. 2. The leadership team lacked the ability or willingness to make decisions following changes even a blind man could see following the recent POTUS election result. It did not appear that anyone took the time to prepare for what was next in a manner that reflected the spirit and legacy built up over the previous decades. 3. Poor HR leadership - I observed unprofessional behavior from various members of this group, top to bottom, with consistency. I test drove an issue with someone outside of the HR Leadership/management chain because of a mutual connection who directed me to them. They gave me very good counsel and helped me adjust my approach. Unfortunately, I received a response upon making my issue known that blamed me for the unwelcome actions I was bringing forward.

Pros

Good benefits, cheap parking, sunny neighborhood

Cons

Most hostile work environment ever. Talented people get sucked in, find out about the dysfunctional culture, don't leave because they are scared to lose the benefits and that their skills won't translate into other careers, and then become part of the problem. Everyone is disgruntled. The managers are morons.

Pros

WestEd offers great benefits to employees. The pay was great!

Cons

The work-life balance is not conducive to a healthy lifestyle. During busy seasons, one may work an entire week of 12+ hour days. This is in addition to traveling to lead professional development sessions. One may present a full 8 hours and then return to a hotel room to work through the night on a client deliverable. When this occurs occasionally, one can manage. However, once it becomes a regular occurrence, it is not sustainable.
