Pros

WestEd offers great work life balance on the operational side of business. Benefits are good including PTO, retirement etc. Co-workers are generally nice people and supportive. Managers did give the opportunity to find your own path and create a niche for your role, but was often not rewarded.

Cons

Pay is average to below average compared to industry standards. Raises, incentives, and benefits were recently cut back related to loss of business. This has brought down morale overall. There is limited opportunity for growth and movement within the company, a lot of staff are just complacent in their job roles, it is easy to fall in to the same mode. WestEd promoted best practices and guidance to clients, but failed to follow the same principles internally.

Pros

It's a non profit with a great mission in education.

Cons

I worked there in 2016, but it's not letting me choose that year. There are some great people working there, but they did not have any processes for improvement. They let a manager only communicate with HR, without giving any direction on what needs to be improved. After which I was let go without knowing exactly why. My manager never even spoke to me to give me feedback.
