Pros

Westcoast are ambitious, striving to grow and to exceed company targets. Westcoast are not happy standing still, meaning that some employees have opportunities to grow and learn. Westcoast has a flexible culture that promotes free thinking.

Cons

Westcoast sometimes keeps employees that are not fit for purpose, or fails to address short comings. Westcoast are very much sales driven which means good employees in other departments are not noticed, encouraged, or developed. Westcoast lacks performance reviews or goal setting targets.

I am glad that you have seen Westcoast's growth over the past 10 years and more. It is something that you and all of your colleagues take tremendous pride in. As always in a performing business, management want to take EVERYONE with them. However, we owe it to our people that everyone performs. So we are introducing performance this year with a pilot programme. Expect a PDD meeting soon and hopefully your concerns will be addressed.

Hostile environment. Low salaries. No benefits. No sick pay. Poor environment and IT equipment.

We are growing fast as a business and have addressed many of your issues with recent IT upgrades, Pulse - our employee communication site/magazine, The VOW (the Voice of Westcoast) allowing employees to raise issues of concern. I agree that a fast growing business sometimes has growing pains and we are addressing these every day. Alex

Partnerships with other companies means the odd free lunch.

Cons

Dreadful culture of bullying in the retail department, created mostly by the management. Several cases of bullying and improper conduct were levelled against management during or near after my time at the company.
