Fun people to work with, very helpful. Allows you to make mistakes and learn from them.

Cons

You were only "allowed" and were paid to work 19 hours a week, but you would spend easily 30-40 hours.

- there isnt really a down side to working at WWU, however, the salary of a public university may not be very competitive. - information is public

Pros

I believe that WWU is a good academic institution that is devoted to intellectual development and research opportunities for both its students and its employees. The employees are provided with great benefits, a great health and wellness program, and transparent administration. The institution prioritizes quality teaching while still providing a quality research environment.

Cons

Too many professors are being asked to teach heavy loads since many of the adjuncts have lost their jobs and open faculty lines have been eliminated when professors retire. My position has been reduced to half-time to save money because of the tough economic times. Everyone is working harder in these lean economic times.
