Pros

You get a free meal as a crew leader, and considering its quality food that's not so bad. I met a lot of really nice people there and the work atmosphere was somewhat laid back.

Cons

I worked at a privately owned franchise, which I believe made working for Whataburger worse. The pay is horrible for the shifts you work. As an evening crew leader I was required to work Friday graveyards ending my shift at 6 am and required to be back at 2 pm for another 8 hour shift, then come in again the following day at 10am. Destroys your entire weekend. We had a ridiculous turnover rate mainly cause they will never give you a wage increase unless you beg for it. When people don't show up you end up covering for them. One week the graveyard crew leader who relieves the evening shift quit and I ended up getting stuck working double shifts for three nights. There was zero advancement opportunity after crew leader or at least that's the impression I got.

Pros

- I am not sure I can think of any. About the only pro is they worked with my schedule for the most part they were flexible. - I liked most of the people I worked with.

Cons

- Horrid management. I have been yelled at for asking for a break. I have been yelled at for not punching in early because they were busy. - The GM would put people on shifts they said they could not work. She randomly put me on earlybird shift without my permission and even though I told her I could not work overnight. - The GM was extremely abusive and could not complain about her because her boss was her friend who defended her.

Pros

The pay was slightly more than other area fast food places. Easy to work around your schedule. The store is much cleaner than other places.

Cons

Unfair advancement oppurtunitys. The regional supervisor would usually only promote women at my store, he had unethical business practices. They would promote high school dropouts over college students. Had unrealistic goals for the crew to reach. Managers would be playing on the internet at work and leave just a few people to do the work.
