Pros

Team members are intelligent and easy to work with. Good team morale. Valuable hands on experience where you have ownership of the work. Great company events that boost morale and encourage bonding with fellow coworkers. One of a kind CEO who clearly cares about and encourages his employees.

Cons

Fairly heavy workload. Salaries are not competitive. Cross department communication can be improved. Hire more managers with experience. College grads are easy to train up, but many clients will be able to tell they're not "experts".

Thanks for the feedback. I couldn't agree more that our smart, motivated team members are Whereoware's greatest asset. 2105 was a very fast growth year with a lot of positive changes for us. We are rapidly increasing hiring in order to smooth the load and minimize the workload spikes. We are hiring at several levels and having success finding really strong people. And communication is something we continue to work on. We have a few initiatives underway to improve this admitted weak spot.

Pros

The people are great and they just moved to an awesome new office in Chantilly. Management has an open door policy and are very approachable and understanding as long as you are honest and straight forward. The exposure to different clients and projects give you a great opportunity to learn a lot and build a great knowledge base.

Cons

I've seen Whereoware go through the growing pains of any small business transitioning to a medium sized company. The lack of an HR department with consistent work policies have sometimes led to issues. And because they are growing quickly and do not have a true HR department - there were times when understaffing was an issue.

Good place to start if you just graduated college

Pros

If you’re a recent college grad and want to get experience in development and marketing, this company is right for you - most of their hires are affordable recent college grads anyway - You’ll get exposure to a variety of tasks - The employees themselves are friendly - The CEO truly and visibly cares about the company and its employees - The parties are fun around the holidays - New office is nice

Cons

- You will be overworked as the company lacks resources due to the fairly high turnover rate. With a large amount of work being spread across such a small team, you will have little to no say in the kind of account you get to manage - Heavily sales-focused. New contracts are underquoted to get the sale, meaning you'll have an unrealistic amount of work to do in a limited number of hours. Management ensures that you're not exceeding the contract's hours, but not enough attention is paid to the quality of work being delivered - They desperately need a data person. Clients constantly ask for more frequent reports, and it's just necessary to decide what the next steps are based on detailed metrics pulled daily. Instead of just gawking at "trendy" new things LItmus puts out, take care of this vital part of your marketing/development. Surface level metrics are not enough - 2 heads of marketing. One is unprofessional, rude, has no respect for the employees and always seems to be absent. The other is hands-off to a fault, meaning senior managers are stuck doing 2x the work - a lot of the organizational issues within this team could be dealt with if they just did their job - As others have said, compensation is below industry/regional averages. They start you off so low that, even with good raises, you'll still be under what you should be making
