Avoid at all costs. Poor leadership, No alignment, No support.
Pros
The pay was enticing, but not worth the burnout or anxiety. There were some amazing engineers and coworkers, but they were let go.
Cons
Leadership is top heavy and insulated. Leadership is not accountable and will actively deceive employees. CEO promised everyone in an All-Hands that while other firms were doing cutbacks, Whereoware would not, and then proceeded to layoff swaths of engineers quietly as if nobody would notice. Many of us noticed and our morale was absolutely shot. We did the work anyway, waiting for the axe to fall. Nobody outside the developers are technical enough to understand how to run the project. Project Managers do absolutely nothing to help steer the project. They have no direction or cohesion between teams, everything is siloed. Customer's are sold one thing, and then Project Managers spend more time trying to prevent developers from achieving the expectation than actually supporting the developers to deliver on promises. Retainer projects are unorganized disasters. Nobody has insight into what is going on except at the top,
