Pros

Generally I think that Whirlpool has some great opportunities for advancement, for those who put the effort in. The management team does a good job of recognizing talent and skills, and grooming those for the next level.

Cons

It is a major corporation, and is currently in a downsizing mode. Some people can get lost in the shuffle, especially if they put no effort into standing out. Some processes take longer than needed, due to the amount of people involved.

Cons

Too much politics. Perception is everything. If one person is dissatisfied with you, he/she can ruin it for you by collabrating with their friends. Manage your perception well. Read power and politics books and see Footloose and Score to understand the towns.
