      Pros

      Friendly people, lots of potential for improvement, #1 home appliances company in the world. This is a good place to work if you have a family and don't need a lot of professional growth. If you are young and ambitious, this probably isn't the right place for you.

      Cons

      Conservative environment, poor innovation, IT staff are way behind the curve, could become the next GM if they don't change their ways. Oh and did I mention they are extremely conservative and hate change like cats hate water? Well, they are. A common theme is "this is how we've always done it. why change? what's the value? what's the benefit? change is going to be hard... blah blah blah"

      Pros

      The fact that it is non-union is the best part about working there. It is a stable company that offers alot of carreer paths and has made a concerted effort to eliminate alot of red tape to freeing an employee to try to do what they feel can improve the business. It is a fast paced environment that has alot of investment into the facilities.

      Cons

      It is an organization that is very involved in ones personal life and limits ones career growth due to not being in the "good ol' boys" network. For a woman coming into this organization there are several gender challanges.

      Pros

      This company is definitely Fast paced ... there is never a lack of meaningful projects to work on and there is a lot of visibility if you work hard and are career oriented ... with that comes acknowlegement for a job well done ... work sites are left to determine their own fate ... therefore employees know each other on personal level usually ... this is not a silo'ed company like most others ... base pay is very good and seems to be inline with the industry, locality, and type of work most of the time ... not very much pigeon holing going on either ...

      Cons

      Work life is top priority, oftern to the point where managers will explain that person life will have to be shelved ... a very strong 24 hours in a day mentality as there are several manufacturing background individual in top leadership postitions ... business decisions are often based on emotion or my way-or-the highway attitude by senior management which leads to impression the group is out of touch with grass root level employees ... Whirlpool is in a very, very tight business and the margins on product are not what you think they might be ... very hard to discuss long-term planning with management
