Pros

Amazing curators and exhibition programming; small staff, so it's a very hands-on workplace; see a project from beginning to end; passionate people who believe in the work they do

Cons

Not compensated well, as it is a non-profits arts institution and it's in one of the most expensive cities in the world; expected to do a lot, long hours, lots of events, for not much pay

Pros

Everyone in my department is passionate about their job and bring extreme talent and creativity to their work.

Cons

In the new building, we are pushing our capacity (i.e. we have so much demand from visitors and want to be able to provide the programming to satisfy them, but our staff can only grow so much).

Pros

Art! You get to around an amazing collection of modern and contemporary art. The pay is pretty good.

Cons

Hideous uniforms. Management treats you poorly. Hours are slim, making $15/ hr. worthless. No room for movement. Lack of career development.
