      Teachers & support help is great

      Cons

      Administration, starting @ the district offices, does not allow for discipline to be effective when students are acting out. Lack of discipline in the classroom does not allow for a positive learning environment for other students.

      Staff really cares about kids! Steady job with good benefits.

      Cons

      The district is so large your experience doesn't matter, everything taught is scripted. Very stressful, too many demands on your time.

      Pros

      Better teacher pay than almost all other districts in Kansas. Many schools to choose from. Diverse student population and work force so lots of available input for ideas.

      Cons

      Some schools don't follow board policies. Lots more behavior problem kids than smaller districts and when administrators refuse to do anything about it (including physical assault on teachers), it's miserable. Inservice days are rarely useful. The board is also against the teachers and doesn't have to listen to the union because only half the teachers bother to belong to it. The board does whatever it pleases and teachers have no real voice.
