Working with children can be a rewarding and frustrating job but overall I enjoyed my time at the school.

Pros

The best reasons to work for the Wichita Public Schools is the ability to help children with their education. Also, my co-workers are friendly and professional and share the passion of helping children. The third reason is my working schedule coincided with my children's school schedule while they were in public schools.

Cons

The most difficult thing about working for the Wichita Public Schools are the unnecessary restrictions placed on teachers and staff regarding learning tools. Another thing is the consistent cuts to our funding by the legislature. The last thing would be the lack of parental support for education.

Pros

Interesting environment, fun people, good work environment for a long-term career.

Cons

A bit of nepotism within both business organizations and the schools themselves. Lots of required overtime in the face of "dedicated to the children"--and usually unpaid. Lots of mandatory "training" that was somewhat insulting to people.
