Pros

Good employee and company culture in general. Work-life balance is very dependent on self-management/personal ability to set boundaries, and your direct manager.

Cons

Lay-offs every 1 to 1 1/2 years for the last 15 or so years does not make for a very secure-feeling environment. But that now seems to be the norm everywhere.

Some Perks, But Bad management

Pros

Overall, Wiley in general has some good perks and benefits: * Half day off on Fridays during the summer * Good benefits * Some fun community engagement activities (e.g., volunteer days, networking chats, well being activities)

Cons

These don't necessarily apply to Wiley as a whole, but for a specific department and managers in that department (People who run the higher-ed online textbook part of the business). * Micromanagers * Favoritism * Bullying/Mobbing * Toxic work environment * Very hierarchical company * Not open to different perspectives, opinions, or ideas * Women like males on their teams; * Not clear with deadlines; Meeting a due date is seen as a bad thing; Only beating a deadline matters.
