Pros

Opportunity for travel, and gaining experience in Asian and USA corporate practices.

Cons

The USA head office operates on a "one size fits all" paradigm, with processes identical globally. There is little room for initiative, or flexibility. Approval has to be received from the US for even relatively minor operational actions. Meetings, and compulsory teleconferences are conducted at times that suit the US working day - regular participation is required in teleconferences scheduled for 11:00 PM or 1:00 AM.

Pros

Wiley loves its people and by and large treats them well. Good, compassionate leadership on the whole. Wiley has a clear vision of where they need to be as a digital knowledge and learning provider.

Cons

The disruption in higher ed and publishing has taken a toll, though Wiley has weathered the storm so far, layoff have been painful and technology transformation continues to pose challenges.
