Pros

Sometimes you get free food.

Cons

I worked for this company for 5 years. Within the 5 years, I worked 3 different departments. Each department has incompetent management who WILL overwork you and disrespect you and your work. If you have any problems, they do not care to address them with the appropriate party. They let people get away with not doing their part ( you end up doing their duties time and time again), clear favoritism, and nothing ever changes. This has been the same story with everyone I have spoken to who has worked for this company. Wintrust USED to be a good company! Sadly this is not the case anymore. Bankers were reduced to tellers, after being promoted and NO pay increase for now having to juggle 2 positions and never really being able to catch a break or complete your work because you ALWAYS need to attend to something. All of this mean while your coworkers who are the boss's favorites are no where to be found. When you think they will train you for your position, like any employer should, what happens is that you're left alone to handle everything. The roles are pretty much self taught. Imagine, just imagine leaving a new employee to validate multi million dollar wires who is not even proficient or has experience in the systems?? All the meanwhile, the interpersonal relationships within the institution are so disrespectful. The way people communicate with each other is so out of line. I've been yelled at and accused of the worst for simply following the handbook, which none of the managers at these charters ever bother to train their staff with. I left for the fact that for the 2nd time after taking a hirer role, I was never doing what I was hired to do and management lied time and time again about it. The entitlement that this company gives to the customers is disgusting. Customers are encouraged to continue being verbally abusive and at times, I had customers almost assault me as a teller and nothing was done about it.. Management is also very immature and micromanage every move you make. When you need help with something all they do is ignore you! Do yourself a favor and find another company. There IS BETTER.
