- Lack of structure and training (systems training, procedures training) - Disorganized HR department, I did not have an onboarding meeting w/ HR to talk about benefits, and do an overview of company resources and the basic things you would expect in any organization, or so I thought, until I started working at Wintrust. - Unprepared Leaders who do not know how to manage, inspire, and lead, and honestly should never be in a position of management. The commercial banking Leader in the Government, not for profit, and healthcare team aside from being a micro-manager, had questionable morals, values, and treated people in the team like sh1t. Here are some examples of things i heard: " People who work from home are Lazy" ; "COVID is not real, its a joke, and its not an excuse to not be in the office, and to no tell anyone in the team I was exposed to someone that tested positive" " there is no need to have two parents at home when one parent can look after a sick child" this was right after i left the hospital and the ER with my child. "How can I trust that you won't start making up that your child is not sick so that you can work/stay home" " this is a professional job, not a manufacturing job".... the list goes on... I also gathered feedback from other RM's, PM's and even analysts on their relationship with said leader, so that my opinion would not be biased based on my own experiences, and not surprisingly, none of these individuals had anything positive to say, but had many negative comments and stories of their own. HR said the leader had a "strong work ethic" i think they misused the word @sshole and treating people poorly for "having a strong work ethic".. This leader is a known issue, has had high turnover in the team, and that I know three individuals left the company because of her, I am the fourth. HR is unwilling to do anything about it, gives her a free pass to bully, intimidate, discriminate, and harass employees. I also had some interactions with an "ambassador" at Wintrust, crude, old white male, disrespectful, and quite full of himself to the extent he would berate employees if they wore, or not wore a tie, shaved or not and petty things alike. I had a terrible experience with Wintrust, it is not a bank I recommend to work, to bank with and I really don't know how they advertise themselves as an employer of choice when among only 1 line of business the majority of employees disagreed with the leader, were unhappy with her, and disliked the culture.. I heard that the other lines of business weren't good either as far as leaders go, but I got stick with the worse of them all. I applied for a hybrid role, then was told after hire the expectation was M-F and HR had the audacity to say that was clearly communicated with me like they were sitting in the same room as me during the interview.. not the case at all. HAD IT BEEN communicated on-site M-F even after client visits etc.. and a very strict schedule and even stricter leader, I would never have even considered the role, or wasted my time an energy. AGAIN, stay clear from working for this company as I do not see them making any strides to acknowledge their mistakes, call out their "leaders" for being bad managers and coaching them to be better,
