Pros

The job always keeps you busy as there is always stuff to do. If you enjoy taxes you won't get bored with this job. The DOR treats taxpayers fairly and equally which I think is really important. The others that work there are hard working, knowledgeable and willing to help.

Cons

It's hard to find think of a con. I guess the pay could be a little higher but it doesn't seem like that will happen any time soon.

Pros

Excellent staff and good technical expertise available. Have a lot of flexibility in what you want to do here and provides a good work and personal life balance.

Cons

Overall the state benefits have reduced. The pay is considerably less which used to be compensated by good benefits but not anymore.
