      Head office is clueless. Good intentions but no vision equals dissatisfaction and many people leaving.

      This is not a stable position. It was an opportunity to get work experience, but it didn't last and wasn't worth it

      Pros

      Field work is enjoyable. Might get your name on few reports Challenging in many ways Opportunities to learn how environmental and cultural laws are implemented on large and small scales. Opportunities to go where no one else is allowed to go. Lots of free time between jobs. Rejecting work projects due to conflicting schedules was also an option.

      Cons

      Very minimal training was given at the beginning, no further training was given even when it was requested by employees. No opportunity for advancement. As soon as a pay raise was expected a bunch of the On Calls were dropped like a hot rock, citing "automatic removal from the system due to lack of activity" due to "lack of projects" and the job posting for the same job was announced across multiple hiring websites. Apparently this is a company decision that immediate managers have no control over or awareness of. Poor management communication. Management did not care for On Call employees advancement and growth as professionals despite the company literature assuring new hires that they are valued and their well being and professional growth is encouraged. Problems with management are hardly ever resolved. Legitimate and serious complaints by lower level employees are not encouraged or adequately addressed.

      The people are generally nice.

      Cons

      Compensation is below market. Lack of diversity in senior management. All decisions are made from Aberdeen. There is no career management support. IT is abysmal.
