Pros

Nice people to work with Benefits such as £15 contribution to the gym is good and fair amount of holidays No weekend work

Cons

Micromanagement from higher up, feeling like your under surveillance and not being recognised for hard work. Very favoritist in who is rewarded and the managers are quick to jump the gun and not listen to your point of view if there has been an issue or you have previously highlighted a problem. No training and slow software issues daily meaning frequent client complaints. Progression is available in SOME departments but they would rather promote externally than internally unless you are friends with managers, this has been the case for several people going for different internal jobs. Salary is avarage but don't expect an increase for a long time. If you have an issue/idea/suggestion you can voice it but it is unlikely to be heard or make a difference.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We genuinely value all feedback and aim to take it on board. We are currently developing all of our managers and consistently review our performance via our colleague survey. We are working hard amongst the Senior Leadership Team to ensure we have a consistent and fair approach and it's positive to hear that you have experience of great management too. If you do not feel you can speak to your manager, I would encourage you to escalate any issues/ideas you have via your manager's manager or to the HR Team.

Pros

Pretty much everything. Superb colleagues, variety of clients and work, belting location (Aldford), excellent benefits, cracking employee 'get togethers' in the Summer and Christmas. Above all though, the support you get from your manager and the senior leadership team is brilliant. I couldn't have asked for more during the past 12 months which have been very challenging. Career progression is there if you want it, but you have to be willing to put ion the time and work hard to achieve it. I started off as an office based administratgor but I am now a H & S Consultant by working hard and with the support of the senior management

Cons

Only a small one, but the 1-2-1 process could be shortened. I personally think having a monthly 1-2-1 is too much and can be counter productive by taking away from the time we need to service our client base.

Pros

Quality work with a varied range of clients from SMEs through to larger, household names means you get lots of experience of all aspects of employment law. This means no day is ever the same; you could be advising on a complex TUPE or an employee grievance through to a query on holiday pay. There is a high level of support and you can always seek support from colleagues or managers. Having a dedicated PSL and on line resources helps keep the legal team up to date. Senior management, including the CEO and Chairman, are visible and approachable. Employees are encouraged to contribute ideas and give constructive feedback. The focus on client satisfaction and service makes you proud to work for EW.

Cons

It isn't for everyone - if you like an easy, quiet life then this wont be for you!

Thank you for your feedback. It's great to hear that you are enjoying life at EW and find the work varied and interesting. We continue to encourage feedback via our 1:1 process and our employee consultation group, along with our colleague survey and so I'm happy to see that this is being felt by our colleagues.
