The company as a whole seems okay, unless you are in Engineering. Management in general is poor. Most managers are ladder climbers who don't care about people 'below' them.
Engineering has done a good job to make the product better, but since the new CEO arrived, it is now a sales driven company and the product has suffered. Engineering gets treated like they are stealing from the company if they can't meet expectations. While claiming to be 'agile', time guesstimates are demanded and treated like guarantees for new features with no wiggle room to miss dates.
Engineering Management also has very little technical experience and is very product/customer centered. They have no idea what engineers actually do or what skills are needed. They think all job roles are interchangeable. They recently made everybody do front-end work, whether you are QA or a back-end engineer because speed is better than quality. Not that we got either.
Because they aren't technical, they brought in a new architect to fix things only to make the problems worse. They let him flounder for over a year because they really only like big talkers at the most senior engineering levels. People who actually do the work are rarely recognized and so they leave.
Over the last few years, most of the talented people left and the company hired junior people and gave out titles and promotions just to keep the junior people from leaving. Many of the new hires stay less than a year. People who stay 3 years are very few. I think there might be 10. At least in engineering.
The fact that there are only 10 review from Software Engineers or Senior Software Engineers is surprising. I personally talked with more than that during my tenure and all of them because of management. Some even refused counter offers.
