Pros

The fearless founders of Workit Health dreamed of doing something different. They’re filling a HUGE need in care, medically referred to as the treatment gap. We’re in the midst of an opioid crisis, and it’s easier to get alcohol delivered to your door than to find addiction treatment. How crazy is that? So these two women, Workit Health’s CEO’s, have built an online addiction company. They’ve got a pack of freethinkers, recovery activists, medical experts, and other brilliant leaders following behind them, building up clinics first in Michigan, next in California. The team is smart, fun, honest, we get serious when we need to be, and we’re (#1 here) passionate about patient-centered care. From our UX design interns from U of M (brilliant, BTW!) to our developers to our clinical team - we’re all deep diving into the why and how of getting people struggling with addiction better, because many of us have lost folks close to us or slogged through that deep battle with addiction ourselves. CEO’s Robin and Lisa are real, as leaders need to be, but each take the time to mentor and honor us as employees. We’re a close knit team living at the intersection of culture and science, we love coffee and chocolate and brainstorming sessions with post-it notes. We’re a B-corp, which means we’re dedicated to doing good. We live at the intersection of humanity and technology, of science and social support, and if you’re looking for hard work that matters, you can live here too.

Cons

As with any startup, employees can be required to wear multiple hats. This isn't necessarily a con but a requirement of startup culture - the ability to be moldable and bend with systems that evolve as they grow. The old adage of "move fast and break things" absolutely applies to Workit Health. If you aren't comfortable moving fast or breaking things, or if you aren't comfortable taking a project and running with it, you might not be comfortable here. We let people fly, no hand-holding involved.
