Pros

I had little hope of finding another HR management position in hospitality in 2020 and in Ocala but here I am. I hadn't actually formally interviewed for a job in over 15 years and boy, I felt the pressure that day. I came in as a Coordinator; a step down from my previous position but I honestly was just happy to be back to work. I had lost hope of going back to the company I had been employed with for almost 13 years. Hotels and restaurants were still trying to figure things out at this time. Within 2 months, I was promoted to HR Manager and was soon able to hire two coordinators. We now have over 600 employees and we are still growing. Since opening to the public in December of 2020, we have had over 60 internal promotions. I am in awe of my surroundings every day. The facility is absolutely stunning and I am beyond grateful for the opportunities that lie ahead. At the end of the day, you get out what you put in. Cons

Unbranded property. Miss my Hilton travel discount.

Pros

Decent pay, good benefits of you need them. Everyone is willing to share their knowledge and teach you. Still building, so A LOT of career growth available you are looking for it.

Cons

Not the best work -life balance I've seen in the industry. Communication amongst different areas (ie, F&B, Stewarding, Hotel, Sales/events) is a little lacking causing frustrations. ALWAYS busy so time off/PTO for management is hard to facilitate and a lot of things happen on a dime so it can be very chaotic.
