      Small department with family feel; decisions are fast; easy access to management; opportunities for advancement since there's no cut-throat competition

      Cons

      Small can have disadvantages - limited opportunities to learn from a larger and more diverse group; work depended on grants, which can be somewhat insecure; projects are few, so you work on the same thing for years

      A Great Educational Community

      Pros

      Decent pay, excellent benefits, access to on-campus activities (visiting speakers, dance and theatre, art exhibits). Post office on-site. Large yet close-feeling community.

      Cons

      Because pay is dictated by the state, every once in a while, the University has to "purge" -- get rid of older, more expensive employees. Doesn't happen too often.

      Pros

      Working at WSU gives you the opportunity to stay more connected with the campus and what is going on.

      Cons

      Sometimes having to interact with fellow students, if they get mad about something you have to see them on campus all the time.
