      Do heavy research on who you work for. There is a big division between good and bad situations. A good supervisor can be great.

      Cons

      Minimal to no oversight for professors.

      Pros

      High level of employee trust. Supervisors always helpful and available. Extremely flexible working hours and vacations. Fantastic tuition benefits for staff.

      Cons

      Certain amount of misdirection in management, employees don't always know what they should be doing. Extremely lax policies with personal computer and phone use during work, taken advantage of by some employees.

      Good working environment, ability to learn a lot if you're in the right office

      Some of the upper-level faculty and staff do not have the expected characterics for someone in an upper-level position.
