Pros

Wonderful peers, staff colleagues, and people doing the work with students.

Cons

Like many HE institutions boards are dictating the direction of the university instead of data. If you are in Humanities or Social Science WSU ranks you at the bottom of the pile for pay and general support. The higher level administrators have created a depressing and demoralizing environment for faculty.

Pros

Generally, professors and teaching assistants sincerely want to help students learn. Also, there is a moderately good sense of camaraderie.

Cons

The pay is painfully poor. Also, teaching assistants haven’t received a raise in at least a decade. Furthermore, teaching assistants routinely work well beyond their 20 hour a week limit. If you are a graduate student, you are unlikely to have time for another job.
