Pros

Great students, colleagues, and campus activity.

Cons

The base pay for adjunct faculty of appalling ($3000 per course in the College of Liberal Arts). If you look at the equivalent pay for an annual full-time course load, it would only be $24000 ($3000 x 8), without any benefits offered, for a job that requires at least a master's degree. This is an industry-wide problem, but it does not excuse any industry that uses these exploitive practices.
