Pros

Support staff gets to work a set schedule and there is room for lots of overtime leading up to the holidays

Cons

This office operates completely different than all other offices and I only have experience with this office. This location resents being bought by XPO Logistics, refuses to change and is resistant to ANY change. Due to their need to hold onto their procedures and structures you are constantly dealing with work around processes in software, account management, accounting and customer service. Some of the employees even answer the phone with the former company name and they are resentful of the change. The office is a huge pen with multiple tables service different clients. There is no privacy or consideration that you are working and a constant paper ball fight occurs so my reflexes improved as I dodged objects flying through the air. The opportunities for advancement are from support, carrier sales to customer sales and that's all. No other p I will say that it's my understanding that other XPO Employees in other locations are quite happy with XPO and I have immense respect for Brad Jacobs but that Gainesville office needs to be addressed.

Pros

- Fast paced work environment with some really great people to work with on the Infrastructure team. - Time goes quick because there is never enough time to even think about how fast your day is going by.

Cons

- Work life balance is essentially non-existent. - More travel than anyone will initially lead you to believe (although it was getting better) - Senior management team is ONLY concerned with the bottom line. - Senior management team is focused on building up to sell like all of the CEO's other big ventures - No career development opportunities (training, certifications)

Pros

Because the company is growing through several acquisitions, there are natural opportunities for growing skills with each integration and the challenges that present themselves, whether it is systems, processes, culture or volume growth related. If you plan to stick around, toughing out the growing pains may serve you well once in a maintain mode.

Cons

With the growth pace and demand, it is easy to 'burnout'. As a newcomer, it seems as if you're expected to already know everything about industry and roadmap so it can be frustrating and discouraging right out of the gate if the 'fill in the blanks' is absent or no unofficial mentoring exists. Also hard to build cohesive team when turnover is high.
