Pros
Great benefits, office, and culture. Xactly loves to party, and work hard. People actually like each other and want to hang after work - it's not an awkward, forced thing. You also have FTO unlimited time off, that people actually take advantage of. It's an adventurous, fun, social group. You get to know people really fast and feel "at home". On top of that, there are tons of professional growth opportunities both within the company, and within the larger Vista portfolio. The CEO explicitly encourages growth whether it be at Xactly or within the larger Vista landscape (5th largest software company worldwide) - it's not like if you explore these opportunities you are in mutiny. There's sharing of talent. The leadership team is learning and growing, just as the staff are. There are pains associated with this, but what company doesn't have that! There is SO much internal support for sellers - from on-boarding all the way through selling (people who do demos for you, executives willing to jump on any call, etc.) Everyone is coming together to learn, and have difficult, honest conversations that help to work through the problems. By and large, there is transparency and honesty from the CEO all the way down. Problems are being identified and fixed. The culture here is a gem and hard to find. If you are open to being vulnerable, patient, and understanding as the company works through its growth, and if you're willing to learn and be open, you will have a phenomenal professional experience here.
Cons
Comp could be better, but the benefits and experience you get working here outweighs that. You get a lot of autonomy and responsibility and so much opportunity to grow which will benefit you way more in the long-term than a couple extra thousand in your paycheck now. The products are kind of boring (but what SaaS isn't) - the value prop is pretty easy to learn which allows you to start earning faster, so I think the comp will balance itself out in the end anyway. Plus it's awesome to work at a fun place where people are actually honest with each other, even when it's hard. Growth is hard, but when is it not. I equate it to healing a scab, then another one forms, then heals again. It's all part of growth and ultimate success - nothing good ever comes easy.
