Pros

• Really good benefits (medical, dental, 401(k) matching, affordable legal plan) • Extra perks for working voluntary OT during hurricane season depending on severity (read: 2017) (gift cards, extra PTO days) • Monthly performance bonus

Cons

• Morale is extremely low. • Cross-department communication is average at best. Support is last to know about things. Even communication within the department needs improvement. • New technicians are hired through a temp agency and are not eligible to receive monthly bonus for at least 6-12 months • You are always at fault for poor customer interactions, regardless if you are really at fault or not. • Meeting service quality requirements is impossible with the workload, and low scores will affect your monthly bonus. There is no consistency in the grading process. • Nepotism is at work in the company, including the support department, and has a negative impact on how the department is run. • Raises do not keep up with the cost of living. • Ideas on ways to improve the department are not considered by management. • No Team Meetings • Products are released to the public before they are ready. • There is minimal training on new products, yet we are expected to support every feature. • Over 18 individual products (each with hundreds of details) we are expected to remember and support with minimal training. • Support department is not trusted to do their jobs, and most issues related to some products have to be escalated after lengthy calls/chats. Tools to resolve some issues are limited to senior technicians and managers only. • Inadequate positive feedback from management; even if there is, it feels obligatory • Small mistakes are not acceptable, even if the mistake is caused by another department. Support department takes the fault for everything. • Technicians are expected to take 3 interactions (chats) at one time. • Policies and procedures are setup in a way to make level 3 technicians fail. Level 3 technicians are expected to be on call 24/7 on a rotating schedule. • The pace of work is incredibly fast. It doesn’t slow down. It’s mentally and physically draining even for someone that has been here for years. • Management gives the impression, ““Even If You Give Your All, Nothing You Do Is Ever Good Enough”

Pros

The people are nice and the company itself is great. Lots of great people to work with that have been there for a long time and want to see others succeed below them. They bring in snacks everyday, basketball courts, gym, have activities frequently for employees, food trucks come to the site, great view (if you work on the south side of the building), pay incentives (once/if hired on), close to restaurants, they'll bring in food if it gets incredibly busy.

Cons

Honestly one of the most stressful and unrewarding jobs I've ever worked. You'll start out as a Contractor, you don't get any benefits, pay incentives, PTO, etc. They expect an absurd amount of time from you, I'm referring to meetings, quizzes, exams, daily assignments, posts to read and acknowledge, all the products you have to know and learn to troubleshoot, 3 chats at a time, phone calls, and if it's busy, they'll cut lunches. You treated as if you are a cog in a machine, unappreciated, I don't feel as though I add any value to the company. Management are nice people, but the culture in the department is miserable at best. I'm constantly reminded of small insignificant errors or mistakes I've made with no positive reinforcement. They make you "feel" better by bringing in junk food and they say how much they appreciate us that we have to stay and help customers that angry or upset while management is negative and our service quality team (they'll grade the chats and calls we take) and grade them while looking for ways to mark us down points. I dread coming into work, this department, not Xactware itself, because management have set such high expectations for us with no real way to achieve success. You take 3 chats at a time and when you get backed up and have many tickets to case and you're work 10 hours that day and you're trying to get home and make a mistake, they don't care, it's very stressful. If I didn't have to be here (this department) I wouldn't. I've voiced many opinions and things I wanted understanding on but the situation was turned on me and they made it to look as if my bad scores were my fault, but in reality I just happened to get caught in the middle and received the bad score because of someone else's laziness. You literally can't do anything because you have to be at the computer the entire time while you're here. The company will throw parties and hand out prizes during the day, but we'll be the only department not there taking chats and phone calls. Only 2 official days off during the year, Christmas day, and new years day. Every other day you are expected to work, unless requested and if you get that requested day off.

Pros

The benefits at Xactware are good.

Cons

Pay raises do not keep up with the standard of living Morale in support has taken a massive hit. Managment doesn't realize or doesn't care about how bad it is. No activities to help build morale. Software being released is so bad that support has taken the full force of angry customers having problems.
