Pros

1. Great Colleagues and Working Environment 2. Super helpful Staff

Cons

Quit the company mainly because of their Mandatory back to office policy. My role can be done remotely and when the upper management forced the employees to come back to office 3 days a week, I had to make a tough decision. If the company is not offering a basic necessity such as parking at downtown in this current economy, I was looking at spending close to $200 per month just to park; not to mention the gas cost.

Pros

Get to put the name Xcel Energy on your resume.

Cons

- Executives care more about crushing financial goals then the well being of their employees. - No mentorship from your leaders. Just empty promises that are never kept. Constantly talk about future opportunities or things they could do to help and never follow through. - Extremely cliquey. Very hard to get into the inner ring of employees to gain new opportunities or job security. -Company claims to want to embrace new ideas and innovativeness but 99% fall back on old ways or previous ideas instead.

Pros

Xcel provides a critical service within the US

Cons

Benefits are mediocre at best; for example, there's only ONE high deductible medical plan that requires employees to pay a hefty out of pocket before coverage kicks in. PTO is mediocre with slow accrual. 3x in office required, $20 to park daily as company doesn't pay for parking, office is in Denver which is increasingly becoming more congested and crime-ridden. Management is self serving and narcissistic, does not care about leading and providing direction to staff, very hands off, you will not get feedback or be groomed for growth in the company, no mentorship, not a team player culture, the list goes on. Pay is also mediocre compared to similar roles elsewhere. There is no incentive to make a career at Xcel.
