      Pros

      Some really cool people. CEO great guy. Great product. Looks good on a resume. New offices. Social club organises great events.

      Cons

      Depending on your department and whether you're in one of their newer locations, forget about having a personal life or any sort of balance - you'll be exhausted. Probably better for young 20-somethings who are happy to give their soul and all their time. Don't even think about it if you have a family. The expectation to always be "on" is huge. You can be inexperienced and get into management if you know the right people. "Just get it done" was a phrase too often heard.

      Pros

      Good benefits - Leave, employee share scheme, volunteer days. Opportunities to move internally and broaden experience

      Cons

      The antipodean culture that made Xero a great community and place to work is no longer. The culture is becoming heavily Americanised and focuses on individual drive over community and team culture. This can be good as there is opportunity for bonus equity but the overall effect hasn’t been positive for day to day work so sadly I can’t recommend Xero as a place to work anymore.

      Started incredible, but new American focus changed everything

      Pros

      When I first started in this role, the culture was top tier. Very open, authentic and transparent workplace. Maternity leave benefits are six months, extra leave is wonderful, hours are what they say they are.

      Cons

      New American focus really changed the vibe. Huge redundacies and lack of transparency in the process. Left team with not enough resources, and some of the best people were let go. Productivity dropped as a result.
