Pros

An awesome company with an amazing bunch of awesome people Great ideas and a strong ethic in protecting clients from harm Good support from IT and HR in onboarding Flexible working arrangement to work permanently remotely

Cons

Has no policies to support indigenous peoples in the workplace or as customers Senior management enables toxic people leaders The odd bad egg, REALLY bad egg, in middle management will wreck this company with the blessing of senior management At the time the data system was a trainwreck from growing too big too fast without good architectural oversight. A modernisation project was underway but it wasn't well guided

Pros

Salary, location, well-being leave, work hours, coffee machine,

Cons

Poor product, which is entry level accounting software in comparison to competitors, this software is mostly suited for people with no accounting experience/small businesses. A product you’ll not believe in but will be forced to believe in like it’s just revolutionised the financial industry! The product is over hyped as being better than competitors. Job role is basic and exaggerated, apparently you’ll do the best work in your life by working at Xero (by telling customers how to click on certain tabs and helping them via TeamViewer) which many call centres in India do. They’ll lie to you during your interview about how great and technical the job role is. Fake culture, full of 21 year olds, fresh out of school and Amazon warehouse workers, apparently they hire smart people and only smart people. Google hire very smart people! Excuses such as hyper growth and it’s not for everyone to cover up the damaged culture. Seen many Black and Asian hires get bullied or hired to get fired. Luckily for me though, I didn’t fit in that category but I’m a liberal millennial who believes in fair treatment.

Pros

Salary is good which is why many don't leave. Free bread and drinks. LTI Scheme - You get to own a few shares.

Cons

Culture of exclusion and bullying is all I can say. People from certain backgrounds also get discriminated and will face many hurdles. Xero has bad leadership and it feels more like being at college or school than working at a tech company because its about how cool and popular you are, many young employees which explains the situation here. A business thats trying to be like Google but is not on that level and will not be.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts - we take these very seriously. We’re disappointed to hear of your experience and we believe this isn’t reflective of the culture we work hard to cultivate at Xero. We pride ourselves on a human and inclusive culture and encourage you to reach out and speak to Liz Crump in People Experience who is keen to address your concerns directly so we can understand the situation and find a resolution for you. Thank you again for providing your feedback. ^CP
