Pros

Rochester is a great place to raise a family. Some departments are more flexible than finance. Bottom line, no pros.

Cons

Current managers in the finance area are very old school and do not adapt well to changing times. Xerox has 2 restrucutring activities every year. More work, less people. There is not much talent in the pipeline and the future of Xerox leaders is not looking to good. Raise average close to 0% in the last 3-4 years. Little to no progression in the finance area. Mid level managers are afraid of upper level managers and do not have a voice. Average age of Managers are close to 50 which means no promotions for the up and coming talent non existent. People in the finance area are very clicky. Finance department is predimoninantly caucasion and if you are of ethnicity, you are more likely not in the click. Beneifits are poor.

Pros

Training is thorough and comprehensive, atmosphere is casual and collaborative, work is full time with performance-based "bonuses" paid regularly.

Cons

Even with the additional performance based pay, the advisors are not paid well enough. It seems that even the supervisors and trainers are underpaid. Specialists, especially in a technical field, should earn more than slightly above minimum wage. High turnover.

Pros

Talented people, flexibility in working hours, internal training opportunities.

Cons

Decision makers are too far removed. No process for getting new business ideas to the decision makers. Promotion and compensation is a function of time, not a function of performance and level of responsibility. Tuition reimbursement amount is now pathetic.
