Amazing product, awful upper managment

Pros

The employees are great. The product is amazing and would useful for a laboratory to use and if they use it as intended they could make a lot of money with it.

Cons

Upper managment is terrible, we have directors and VPs who are the worst. They listen to untrustworthy employees who are only out for number 1 and ready to throw others under the bus. Xifin hires VPs who don't have any experience in the positions or industry and expect the rest of the staff to respect them. Our directors get threatened by others who know a lot and make sure to drive those employees away. It is truly sickening the way upper management treats the staff. I've been at Xifin for many years and it was not always this bad, but it is to the point where many of the staff are done and will be gone.

Pros

There are good people there and camaraderie can be high because morale is very low. And it’s not difficult to be a high performer - it just won’t change any of the cons.

Cons

Executives believe the company’s success is due to their management skills rather than in spite of them. Their extraordinary hubris and incompetence results in a company-wide toxic environment. Abusive management cascades down from top to bottom and morale bounces around from bad to worse and back again. Xifin has maintained a truly staggering and consistent turnover rate over a 15+ year period - this is not a blip. Work loads are high, goals are typically changing as you go, and chastisement is the norm. Salaries are well below average and raises are rare. Internal promotion is virtually unheard of and manager hires are externally sourced and also suffer from frequent turnover. The software is terrible and never gets better in the pandemonium-based development cycle. The technology stack is 10+ years behind. There is heavy reliance on ancient technology and employee’s technical skills become outdated with every passing day. Many current employees are simply trapped by their now-outdated skills and find it difficult to be competitive in today’s job market. Incredibly, HR solicits employees for positive Glassdoor reviews, but don’t fall for the “pollyanna” reviews. They are not reality-based.

XIFIN is an extraordinary company as measured by its financial success, market leader status, innovative products, its tenured employees and its customer base which includes world renowned diagnostic laboratories and hospitals. This array of outcomes is not accidental or by luck. The company is growing at a trajectory that by all industry standards is outstanding. Managed turnover can also positively affect XIFIN. By having employees leverage their success and development for their next career opportunity it provides XIFIN the opportunity to onboard a new employee that brings a fresh perspective. Glassdoor provides a valuable service to employees, perspective employees and our management team. The company does assess all comments and where appropriate the company has and will take initiatives to address concerns to further our value proposition to customers and employees. HR does encourage all employees and interviewees to review XIFIN on Glassdoor, however, we cannot and do not want to control what is written. This feedback, in addition to exit interviews, is very valuable and helps us to move forward in a positive manner.

Pros

The product is superior to any others.

Cons

The people because leadership has hired based on salary rather than skill. This is true from the top all the way down. As a technology company there are people who can't perform their fundamental job let alone lead employees or customers. And the employee favoritism is rampant making other envious and frustrated.
